Artist Endorsement Information

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for the interest we have received regarding our custom guitars and also potential endorsements.

It is generally quite easy to receive an endorsement/promotional agreement with Inferno Guitars – our terms are simple and quite acceptable to most. However, the proposal is not available to everyone and unfortunately, some artists are politely rejected when they apply (until such time that they qualify and can re-apply). The offer is open to all string-playing members of a band, not only the single member writing the application.

When considering a band or artist for endorsement, we usually look at:

1.) Is the band well known in their genre/scene? (required)

2.) Is the band backed by a recording label? (not required but higly recommended)

3.) If the artists are not with a recording label, do they have a professional demo CD? (required)

4.) Does the band sound professional live? (required)

5.) Does the band perform live (paid) performances in public venues and how often? (required)

6.) Does the band promote and present themselves professionally? (required)

7.) Is the band/artist overtly offensive to the vast majority of people? (Coarse language and political topics are mostly acceptable. Racist or anti-religious lyrics, song titles and imagry are not acceptable). Your answer to this question should be “NO”.

8.) Does the artist perform mostly original material? (required)

9.) Has your band been established (with the current line up) for twelve months or longer? (required)

10.) The applicant must be at least eighteen years of age or older

If a good guitar player is a member of a band with an unprofessional sound, they will likely be rejected. If the band plays well but their demo sounds unprofessional or their compositions are somewhat uninteresting, they will also likely be rejected. The band as an entirety are assessed, not only the individual members. Many endorsement positions have already been filled and now only the best artists will be considered.

Once the agreement has begun, if a band shoud break up then they no longer qualify. If a member of a band leaves for any reason, they surrender their agreement until such time that they may re-apply in another band.

As we are a young and growing company, we simply do not have the funds to sponsor artists with ‘totally free’ instruments. We do however, offer our endorsing artists guitars and basses which are 50% off, meaning that the artists only pay for materials, shipping costs and transaction fees. Successful applicants will also receive complimentary Inferno Guitars merchandise and various types of support whenever possible.

We will never try to prevent our artists from endorsing other companies as we believe they should have the right to endorse/promote any company that they wish. There are no legal contracts to sign, so no legal advice is required and the agreement can be ended (by either party) at any time, should it be deemed necessary by either party, for any fair reason. Once an Inferno guitar is purchased at endorser price, we require the artist’s endorsement for a minimum of twenty-four months (two years).

All we ask of our artists is:

1.) To play their Inferno guitars at their live performances on the songs that they wish to (which they would do anyway)

2.) Proudly wear their Inferno Guitars streetwear (when they feel like it)

3.) Place our banner on their internet pages/sites

4.) ‘Top friend’ us on MySpace

5.) Write a brief testimonial or film a brief video demonstrating/reviewing the guitars.

(Please note that what we ask in return will cost the artist nothing, while we forgo all profit and we supply free labour)

In return, we also promote our endorsing artists by:

1.) Featuring their tracks on our MySpace and infernoguitars.com mediaplayer

2.) Adding them to our ‘top friends’

3.) Placing their videos on our website

4.) Recommending them for potential gigs/tour opportunites

5.) Mentioning their name every chance we get

Promotion should be a two-way street, beneficial for all concerned.

If you are interested and believe you qualify, please write to us via the MySpace messaging system or info@infernoguitars.com.
